Restitching Roots: Finding Strength in New Lands
Starting over in a new place can feel overwhelming. New people, new routines, new challenges. It’s normal to feel lost, anxious, or uncertain. Especially when the world feels too loud, too busy, or just plain unfamiliar.
For those of us with neurodiverse brains, adapting can feel even harder. Every change feels bigger, louder, more overwhelming. Ever feel like you're always one step behind? Does the world seem to move too fast, too differently for you?
Having worked for years in refugee projects across the UK and internationally—helping displaced families from Kosovo, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Syria, Ukraine, and beyond—I know how hard it is to adjust. I’ve seen how daunting it can be to rebuild a life in a new place, especially when you think and feel differently. But I’ve also seen incredible strength in these journeys, and the power of having a space where you can just be yourself.
Restitching Roots is a project under Untangling Minds that offers group therapy for refugees, displaced families, and those adjusting to new lands. We understand that financial and cultural barriers can make things harder, so we provide support that is free or low-cost.

What would it feel like to have a place where you’re not just accepted, but truly understood? A place where your story matters, where you can feel safe and supported no matter where you’re from.
With my years of experience working with refugee communities and people with neurodiverse brains, I’m here to help you rebuild your sense of home, one step at a time.
You deserve a safe space to breathe, share, and grow. Together, we’ll find strength in this new chapter of your journey.
